Seniors reach Junior A Championship Final

Owenmore Gaels 4-17 Shamrock Gaels 2-12

The Senior team progressed to the Junior A Final with a hard fought win over a determined Shamrock Gaels at Kent Park on Sunday.

Three first half goals put us in the driving seat, going in 3-6 to 0-6 up at half time. To Shamrock Gaels credit they came out fighting in the second half, reducing the deficit to 4 midway through the half. However, with some telling contributions from the subs bench, we regained control and ran out 11 point winners in the end.

Our inside forward line of Glen Mc Cormack and Michael Casey did most of the scoring damage in lively performances, with Jason Farrell making a telling contribution from the middle of the park.

We play St. Marys in the final on a date to be confirmed, with the championship trophy and the invaluable gateway back to Intermediate football awaiting the winners.
