Owenmore Gaels are holding a virtual table quiz to boost the spirits of their members during the Covid-19 restrictions – and the event is open to non-locals too.
Owenmore Gaels, who have a long history of staging table quizzes, will host their first ever online quiz on Saturday, April 25th.
The event will start with some musical entertainment by Sligo Scór Sinsir Solo Singing champion Aoife Hodgins at 9pm followed by the quiz at 9.30pm.
“It is exactly the same as an ordinary table quiz, except that it’s online. Families can form their own teams in their own homes, or people can virtually team up together even though they are in different locations. In this way, they will comply in full with the HSE’s Covid-19 regulations,” said Thomas Kerins, the resident quizmaster at Owenmore Gaels, who will set the questions.
Entry fee will be just €10 per table and the club have teamed up with online venue The Horan Stand to run the quiz.
“We regularly hold table quizzes locally and we hope to get back to doing that very soon, but while we are waiting for the Covid19 restrictions to be lifted, we have decided to go online. It will give our loyal table quiz supporters something to look forward to” said Thomas.
“Given that everyone will be on their laptops or desktops, we will craft a significant number of questions that are not easily resolved by Google.”
